Here are some examples of previous projects where we at Sejfo have provided handling solutions that have demonstrated their value.

Production Lines for Gear Handling

To increase the production of gears, Scania's existing factory underwent extensive restructuring and automation. The solution included 14 straight clear production lines with 47 robotic cells and 4 gantry robots. Implemented between 2015 and 2018, the equipment has since delivered on schedule, and the reliable installation has met the capacity goals for their gear manufacturing.

Robotic Cells for Planetary Gear Handling

Volvo Construction Equipment revamped its production line for planetary gears and sun gears to meet increased capacity. At Sejfo, we implemented three key components: handling to milling machines with ABB robots, a traditional robotic cell for deburring, and line packing with ABB robots. Since production started in 2007, the equipment has exceeded expectations and efficiently handled the volume increase.

Automation of the Foundry Process

Scania needed to increase capacity for casting production and built a new foundry in Södertälje, Sweden. The automation included 11 robotic cells and a large conveyor system. The project demonstrated an impressive 50% lower energy use per ton compared to previous facilities. Heat and material recycling, such as 70% sand reuse, led to significant energy savings, marking the success of their new facility.

These examples illustrate how robotic cells can be adapted to meet various specific needs in different industries. Automation of picking, packing, assembly, and material handling is crucial for improving both speed and precision in industrial production. By implementing robotic cells, companies can benefit from increased efficiency and quality in their handling processes.
